2004 Year In Review

2004 was a full year for CSC and CBSC (formerly know as Cascade Malinois Club). We hosted the American Working Malinois Association (AWMA) Championship in February and hosted two DVG trials with Judges Leo Muller and Fred Marashi , respectively. Club members participated in trials from different organizations, Regionals, National Championships, and International competitions. As a whole, we did very well. The work and time put in to show well is a testament to our dedication to Schutzhund as a breed suitability test and a dog sport.

As a club, we are honored to have several breed of dogs represented. We all love our dogs very much whether they are club trial dogs or international competitors. Some of us came to the realization that our dogs were too young to start or too old to continue with the sport we love. Never the less, our love for them never diminishes.

Titles earned this year by club members ranged from Tracking titles to BH's, VPG's, IPO's and an even a FH. Some scores were great ....and some not so great. Some club members participated in trials and conquered their fear of being in front of people. This alone is reason enough to congratulate and admire their courage and accomplishment. Well done, everyone!

We very much appreciated the support of other clubs in the Region such as: DVG clubs like Greater Vancouver WDC, Evergreen WDC, and Treasure Valley WDC. We also received excellent support from USA clubs such as: German Shepherd SchH Club, Willamette Valley S.C., Greater Seattle S.C., and Twin County Schutzhund Club (our sister club). Handlers came from as far away as South Oregon, Idaho, and Canada. Your sportsmanship, help, and camaraderie was (and is) very much appreciated. Thank you all.

...And, most importantly, we would like to thank all of the club members that gave their time, resources, and worked so hard to make Cascade Schutzhund Club so successful this year. As our club motto says, "Good dogs, Good people, Good training."

Happy Holidays and we'll see you all on the field in 2005!

Les Flores, President and Training Director
Dara Hunt, Secretary and Treasurer
